and a look at the week ahead coming up in just a little bit. stick with us for that. >> let's check in with julie wright. she has the latest on the traffic situation out there. >> good morning to you all. we are talking about loudoun county. before a serious crash that popped up on us along route 9 out at hamilton station road. we are told that the highway is blocked off in each direction. that is route 9 at hamilton station road currently closed because of an accident. for those that are traveling along northbound i-95 here in lorton, nice, easy commute continuing up towards the beltway. no problems to report on the beltway leading annandale to merrifield and you will fine that traveling at the wilson bridge, all lanes are open and traffic is running smoothly there. top side of beltway, the outer loop as you work your way around from 650 new hampshire avenue and continue to silver spring, light traffic volume there as well. you will find lanes are open coming southbound as you travel from 109 out towards the split. that's a check of your fox 5 on-time traffic. >>> it appears the ea

. i'm sarah simmons in for gurvir dhindsa. >> i'm steve chenevey. glad you're with us. welcome to fox 5 morning news on this thursday morning. let's get a look at that forecast for today. tucker barnes joins us with hopefully more good news. >> okay news. we've got more clouds than yesterday. not going to be picture perfect like it was. a little warmer than yesterday. a little more humid as well. we are going to have a gorgeous weekend with more details on that coming up. we'll talk about current conditions and we are in the 60s generally across the area here in town. humidity, 57%. wind are out of the east at six miles per hour. pressure is falling just a little bit. i mentioned cloud cover. can you see it streaming in here from the west. what this is is a warm front. it will be noticeably more humid. still not bad by summer standards but after the perfect weather we had around here the last couple of days, more clouds in the forecast. the rain should hold off until the nighttime hours particularly overnight into tomorrow morning. at lea

simmons in for gurvir dhindsa. >> i'm steve chenevey. thank you for being with us. let's say hello to tony perkins. how is it looking out there? >> still wet from the rain we had overnight and last night. still cloud out there but we'll see gradual clearing as the morning goes on. let's take a look at what is happening. we'll start with the current conditions being reported at reagan national airport where right now it is in the 70s. 73degrees at reagan national. relative humidity, 68%. those wind are out of the west at 15 miles per hour so it is breezy. barometric pressure has been falling. right now, we are just left with some clouds. they will be pushing out as the morning progresses and we'll see i think a good amount of sunshine in the latter part of the day. the forecast for today look like this, becoming mostly sunny gradually. cooler this afternoon. cooler than it was yesterday is what we mean. look for a high of about 84 degrees. that is actually above normal but still cooler than yesterday. more details coming up in just a little bi

. that tells us the conditions will gradually improve here. we'll get a look at satellite- radar. you have to look real carefully, you can kind of see the gray. that is the low clouds and fog hanging tough here. that will burn off as high pressure builds in. the trend will be to dry things out, dry out the atmosphere and increase the sunshine later this afternoon and we'll be talking about highs back just a few degrees above average. back into the low to mid-80s. about 83 here in town and a little breezy at times with winds out of the west at 10 to 15 miles per hour this afternoon. but generally a good-looking forecast for the start of the workweek. >> for the most part, will the fog burn off before people rush hour? >> no, several hours, eight or nine this morning. >> thank you. >>> let's check on that rush hour as we get things started. >> not looking so bad right no if you are traveling the beltway whether you are down south of the wilson bridge or north of town between college park and bethesda. we are receiving word that authorities are checking fo
